Meister Eckhart

“Those who seek peace in external things, whether in places or devotional practices, people or works, in withdrawal from the world or poverty or self-abasement: however great these things may be or whatever their character, they are still nothing at all and cannot be the source of peace. Those who seek in this way, seek wrongly, and the farther they range, the less they find what they are looking for. They proceed like someone who has lost their way: the farther they go, the more lost they become. But what then should they do? First of all, they should renounce themselves, and then they will have renounced all things. Truly, if someone were to renounce a kingdom or the whole world while still holding on to themselves, then they would have renounced nothing at all. And indeed, if someone renounces themselves, then whatever they might keep, whether it be a kingdom or honour or whatever it may be, they will still have renounced all things. St Peter said, ‘See, Lord, we have left everything’ (Matt. 19:27), when he had left nothing more than a mere net and his little boat, and a saint5 comments that whoever willingly renounces what is small, renounces not only this but also everything which worldly people can possess or indeed even desire. Whoever renounces their own will and their own self, renounces all things as surely as if all things were in that person’s possession to do with as they pleased, for what you do not wish to desire, you have given over and given up to God. Therefore our Lord said, ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit’ (Matt. 5:3), which is to say those who are poor in will. Let no one be in any doubt about this: if there were a better way, then our Lord would have told us, who said, ‘If anyone would follow me, he must first deny himself’ (Matt 16:24). This is the point which counts. Examine yourself, and wherever you find yourself, then take leave of yourself. This is the best way of all.”

Shine Your Light Into the Darkness

Any Christian movement that does not love their neighbor

That spews hatred, fear, and greed

Will die on the vine and burn up

For God is love and love purifies our heart and soul of fear

If we remain in the vine

If we remain in his love

We will bare much fruit

Christ will live within us

Shining his light into the darkness of the world and thus glorify the light

If we remain in his love we will truly be children of God and embody Christ in our way of life

Bringing true love, peace, and truth to the world

Prayer in Secret

If you want to be free

If you desire union with God in perfect love

Always point the arrow inwards

For God is always within us

Patiently waiting for us to listen

As Jesus said in the gospel of Matthew

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

We must enter our inner room where the divine therapy takes place

Focus on your breathe till your mind is calm and at ease so you can hear his spirit

Contemplate God’s love and words within your heart and you will be healed, restored, and guided

The Interior Life

The interior life is one of silence

Striving only for divine union with God’s love

It is not one that strives for earthly riches

The false beacon of wealth, status, or fame will all fade away and lead us to great suffering

Look only within your own heart and seek the inner riches of being one with Christ in perfect love

When you are one with Christ, true joy and peace will rush within your heart

Do not be bothered by the impurities in your brothers and sisters

Focus on your own journey to Christ and God’s light will cast into the darkness of the world

Do not gossip about God and only speak humbly

Learn to he silent and listen to God’s voice within you

Be still and seek the Kingdom of God within your own heart and soul

Cloud of Unknowing

“With an empty mind and open heart, let yourself be naked before grace.

Let your mind rest in this dark awareness of God in all of this naked existence.

It is not who you are or what you’ve been that God sees with merciful eyes, but what you want to be.

Contemplative prayer, when done right, is the respectful love and ripe fruit.

It’s the cloud of unknowing, the hidden love-longing offered by a pure spirit.

It takes you into silence, far from thoughts and words.”

These quotes are from “The Cloud of Unknowing” which is a book of anonymous European monks from the medieval times. Full video on YouTube.

Born in the Image of God’s Love

As I walk with the homeless

I see the divinity within them

What the world sees as unclean and unworthy

I see through the lens of compassion, mercy, and unconditional love

They are my brothers and sisters

They are worthy of love

I Walk With You Christ

Narrow is this path my lord

Stay near me as I walk into the darkness of this world

For you are the light of the world

May I drink with you at your well

The everlasting source of love within my own heart

May I eat with you

For you are the bread of life

O’ Christ

My soul only strives to be with you

And rest within your love

Love Your Neighbor

Jesus’s one commandment to his disciples was to love your neighbor

What is your neighbor?

Your neighbor is the poor, sick, and homeless

Your neighbor is the immigrant

Your neighbor is the LGBTQ community

Your neighbor is the pig, chicken, cow, and sheep

Your neighbor is the rainforest and it’s many wildlife

Your neighbor is the Earth

Love them with all your heart and soul

Don’t let fear, hatred or greed keep you from expanding your circle of love and compassion

We are Buddhas, We are Christs

To me Buddhism is studying how Jesus became Jesus and how we can become like him too through the holy spirit, similar to enlightenment or nirvana in Buddhism. It’s core belief is that we all can awaken and become a Buddha; actually we already are a Buddha but are lost in our attachments to worldly things and are consumed by our fear, greed, and hatred (sin in Christianity).
Buddha just means awakened one, similar to the title Christ in Christianity. We should not be scared of other spiritual traditions but our own fear, hatred and religious dogma that can blind us from seeing the truth and goodness in all religions. Be curious and open minded. This type of mindset is what Jesus and Buddha had in their times. This is not to assimilate or convert but to build brotherhood and sisterhood.

I found Jesus through a Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh who wrote a book called “Living Buddha, Living Christ” that changed my life 10 years ago.
He dedicated a lot of his life trying to bridge the two religions and fostering brotherhood and sisterhood.

The Holy Spirit of Love

When my mind is still through meditation I repeat Jesus’s words and the holy spirit is drawn to me and transforms me into Christ in that moment.

No words can describe this spiritual experience of deep love for all beings.

In those moments you are fully liberated from all fear, hatred, and greed.

You are truly alive.

When the holy spirit is within you, everyone is your brother or sister and you feel a deep river of joy rush through your body. ❤️🙏🏻
